Title

If Winter Comes

Description

The story of If Winter Comes focuses on Mark Sabre and his relationship with his wife. The story of the book, though is not what most immediately catches the eye, but rather what someone had written in the book. On one of the first few pages of the book there is a handwritten note from one lover to another. My interest is to see why he gave her this book. What about this book did he want her to read? Another idea that I had was seeing what other books in the Fales collection have handwritten notes and the correlations between the messages that the people write in the book and the story. The question focuses more on the interpretation of the readers. Do the messages that people write in the books have any impact on the way that the person who receives the book views the meaning? The same can be asked of the author. If they write a message at the beginning of the book does that have any impact on the way that people view texts?
