However, the author believes that even though the general public is well acquainted with the stereoscope, they may very well be unaware of how this technology operates. The essay delves into the background of the stereoscope, talking about the origin of the name and the physical composition. It is explained that how the technology works in conjunction with our vision to produce three dimensional images. The essay stresses the ability of the stereoscope to reproduce images of beautiful nature, in an immersive way, and highlights the appreciation that should be had for this instrument.
