The Air Balloon; Or, A Hoax On The Cocknies
Subject
Hot Air Balloons
Description
This article tells about the rioting and disastrous events that occurred in the Vite Cundie House Gardens after approximately 50,000 people gathered there to watch what they were told was the largest hot air balloon in the world take off. After being charged a substantial amount of money to view the balloon, the balloon was revealed, and, as it was not the extraordinarily large sight that the crowd was promised, they rioted, demanded their money be returned to them, and, when it was not returned, chaos and infighting ensued.
