Title

The Great Train Robbery (1903)

Description

The Great Train Robbery was the one of the first motion pictures produced in the United States. It was first screened in 1903, and is one of the most influential and iconic films when it comes to the development of American cinema, even though it is only twelve minutes long. Though it is an American piece, the fascination with locomotive and railway technology was endemic both to America and to Britain, and choosing to have the train as a central part of such an iconic film is truly a sign of the times.

According to TheVideoSeller, the YouTube channel on which this video was posted, "This is the longest and most [complete] version of the film available [...] 'The Great Train Robbery' is considered to be one of the first significant early US narrative films. "
