This is a description of the back cover of Thomas Hardy's collection of "A Changed Man and Other Tales." In the first paragraph of the description, it speaks about the history of Thomas Hardy's short stories and everything that the collection entails. The second and third paragraph on the back cover briefly describe two of the short stories that are in the collection, "Alicia's Diary" being one of them. It is interesting to note that there are only two short stories that are described on the back cover when there are twelve short stories in the collection in total. It could be argued that Thomas Hardy thought that these were two of the most important short stories or two of his favorites stories in the collection that he thought they were worthy of being recognized on the back cover.
