'Dear Boss' Letter

Dublin Core

Title

'Dear Boss' Letter

Description

This letter is suspected to have been written by Jack the Ripper. However, during the 'Autumn of Terror,' hundreds of letters were sent to police and press which caused many problems within the city of Whitechapel. This letter is was different from the rest because it held an earlobe from a victim three days after the letter was received. This is also the first time that "Jack the Ripper" was formally written to be used to describe the Whitechapel murders.
