A Distinctive Facade Is Recreated at New Yankee Stadium
Subject
Frieze
Description
Yankee Stadium's frieze is an iconic piece of architecture. It lined the roof of the original Yankee Stadium from 1923 to 1973 and is replicated on the current stadium's roof. The shape is known to have come out of no where and is completely original. Over the decades it has become one of the team's symbols. Yankees President Randy Levine also says that "It symbolizes the heart and legacy of the Yankees".
