In 2002, the movie "Bloody Sunday" was released. The film depicted through drama the events that took place in Londonderry three decades before it. At the point of release, no English soldier involved had faced any punishment and no apology had been issued. The movie depicts the protest and its original peaceful nature. Then it shows the turn in town, while depicitng the conflict already present in Northern Ireland at this time. It then climaxes as events take a sour turn and the soldiers open fire on the crowd.
