Description

On January 30, 1972, terrible events bestowed over the town of Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Tensions had been boiling up over a number of years between the English troops stationed in Ireland along with the unionists or Protestants, against the Catholics, republicans and IRA members. On this particular day, NICRA had organized a civil rights march protesting internment set to be led by Ivan Cooper. The protest was planned to be peaceful, yet the environment would turn violent, leading to 14 deaths and 17 injured.
