This bold and bright poster presents two different scenes of leisure made more widely available by the railway. The artist has selected a range of vivid colors, a choice made possible by the growing availability of lithographic printing. The poster juxtaposes a day scene with a night scene, where the same woman enjoys seaside delights both on the beach and at the resort in the evening. With her eyes closed in both scenes, the woman enjoys two different moments of bliss, in the sunshine and in the glamour of a cocktail-filled evening. She is fashionable, glamorous and therefore desirable; viewers will want to be her or be with her.
