Title

Portrait of Queen Victoria

Description

Victoria is crowned queen at the age of eighteen. The portrait of her is painted just six years into her reign. Although she is the focal point of the painting, Grant seems to focus the light on her collarbone which illuminates the youthfulness of her skin. She faces away from the artist while showing no emotion. Queen Victoria sits on a thrown while her feet rest above the ground. These small details can show the power of being the queen. on the other hand, she is lightly slouching as her left arm rests. her dress is made of silk and is of a pale, silvery blue color. Queen Victoria cared deeply for her people and for her loved ones. She ruled for 64 years and her blood runs through most of the royal families in Europe.
