أصبحت غريباً في طريقي
غيري يقرأ لي بوصلاتي
يختار لجهلي وجهاتي يا مولاي
يا مولاي أمين المجلس والأمناء جميعاً
في كل أمانات خيانة أحلامي
قد لا أفهم كل الكلمات بتلفازي
لكن أعرف أن هواء السجن ثقيل
قد لا أعرف أن أكتب كلمة حرية
لكني أحمل معناها
فاعلم أن اليوم سيمضي
غداً قد ينفلت زمامي
يامولاي فلتحذرني
English translation
Letter to the United Nations Security Council
I hope my words will reach you
Although you are busy
United Nations Security Council
This is not my first message to you
Here I am, the bleeding human
Ignorance sharpened the rulers' swords with my silence
Out of darkness, injustice and my slaver were created
I became ignorant, following my demons
I became my friends' enemy
Without knowing my sins
I became a stranger on my own journey
As others read my compass
And take decisions for my ignorance and my course
Sir, secretary of the council and all the secretaries
You have betrayed my dreams
I may not understand the words on television
But I do know that the air in jails is heavy
I may not know how to write the word "freedom"
But I carry its meaning within
Know that today is passing by
And that I may break free tomorrow
