John and Patty After the Flood

In this video, John and Patti Reagan are interviewed directly after Hurricane Irene. During this time, they were waiting to hear if Dot's was salvageable after the effects of the storm. Throughout the interview, they repeatedly pan over different parts of Wilmington, showing just the sheer extent of the damage that the town experienced during the storm.

One thing this interview touches on is that the Reagans did have flood insurance, while many of the other businesses in town did not, as flooding is not a common issue for the town. However, even with the help of flood insurance, the restaurant was still $400,00 in debt by the time it reopened. Many other businesses without flood insurance weren't able to re-open and several still remain vacant even now.
