In the video, which has more than 10,682,730 views, President Obama speaks to the impact and significance of Hamilton the Musical's message and impactful cast. The very fact that a musical is performing at the White House speaks to the muscials influence over Americans outside of the musical cimmiunity. Regardless of whether or not the average American was able to list Tony mominees, they had heard of Hamilton.
It's importnat to acknowledge the range at wich this perforance is being experienced. In order for a video to go viral it must have been viewed at least a million times, meaning that this video did not just go viral, but it's success reached a level of sustainability in which the public views it as a documentation of the event. This video in iteself has shaped how over ten-million people view Hamilton; as a plat supported by President Obama. It it this electronic impact that catapults Hamilton into greater lines of success, allowing it to be analyzed and listened to without having to actually be experienced live.
