Introduction To My Omeka Exhibit
Welcome to my Omeka Site. This site goes along with my podcast and it was created with the purpose of predicting changes that Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic might see. The name of my podcast is: "Changes in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic due to Resource Scarcity within the next five years."
Artifact #1: This artifact is an image by the American Community Survey that shows the Medium Annual Income in Santo Domingo and how it shows a weak economy. I chose this image because it illustrates Santo Domingo's low economy.
Artifact #2: This artifact is an image from the World Bank. It shows how the Covid pandemic impacted the Dominican Republic's economy as well as different industries in the country. I showed this artifact because Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and is also negatively impacted by the economy, which leads the city to experience a lack of resources.
Artifact #3: This artifact is a table by Varum and Grossmann that shows important definitions that are essential to understanding the rest of the exhibit.
I make two predictions. The first prediction I make is that Santo Domingo will have an increase in collectivism due to resource scarcity within the next five years. The second prediction I make is that Santo Domingo citizens will have an increase in happiness due to resource deficiency within the next five years.
