Background

The Black Lives Matter movement was a movement started on Twitter when Patrice Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi created the hashtag BlackLivesMatter to express their grief and outrage over George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Later the movement spread and became one that involved, mainly social media platforms but also protests, and mobilization.

This quote portrays how the Black Lives Movement has overtime grown to become a powerful arm to change the American culture. Rather than just addressing one problem, the Black Lives matter movement addresses issues that involve the whole American society and that is injustice.
