2: The Commentary and Recommendation of a Documentary
In this article, William Arnold goes into detail of the documentary of Bloody Sunday titled “Bloody Sunday” and all its highs and lows. The summary of the documentary is quite simple- it is about Bloody Sunday. Arnold discusses how this may be seen as a hard to follow drama if viewed by a non-Irish audience- accents and historical barriers leading to difficulties. This then leads to a potentially great piece being stuck inside its home country when it deserves to be a story shared around the world. The documentary includes a character representing a member of Parliament who dealt with difficulties by using a peaceful approach, as inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. Having a public face of pacifism attached to a cooperative non-violent protest paints the image of no fault to the Irish, continuously the scapegoats of the English. However, this bias can lead to assume this to be a documentary that should be trusted loosely, due to the Irish bias.
